“The 2012 Riesling trocken 32 was kept for 32 months on the full lees and offers an untamed, lemony and spicy bouquet. Medium-bodied but powerful, very piquant and mineral on the complex palate, this Riesling is straight and bone dry, full of tension and grippy, stimulating phenols; this is probably beyond what you might expect from a classic Rheingau Riesling. This Rhein Landwein is more about structure and raciness than fruit, and surely a wine for Riesling freaks. Its aging potential seems to be excellent, but the wine is still far away from being charming. It is in fact rather the opposite and still searching for its balance. I had this wine twice. The first time at the end of October at the estate when it was opened hours before and performed outstandingly well. In the middle of November I had it agaon straight from the bottle and it was very restrained. I give this wine the higher rating, but you should take into account that It's much less impressive when served straight from the bottle. It should be much better the next day"
