"From the vintage with the smallest yield ever (a loss of 70% due to hail) Balthasar Ress' 2017 Rüdesheim Berg Rottland Riesling Trocken (VDP Grosse Lage) displays an intense yellow color and ripe, refined and elegant Riesling fruit. Juicy, dense and firmly structured on the palate, this is a very dry and mineral, Berg Rottland that is still charmless and needs some years to develop more finesse and elegance. Very promising.
